EPISODE 7 - The Sixties provided us with a ton of great music – hundreds of Top Ten songs and a legion of new pop music artists. Most of us can remember bits and pieces of our own past whenever we hear a particular song from that era. There were a few, what I call, rare birds, songs that are now known as standards the world over. One of those rare birds was “Rhythm of the Rain” by the Cascades. Meet the man that wrote and sang that hit record, John Claude Gummoe. John Claude wrote it when he was in the Navy and it made it into the Top Ten of all pop songs recorded in the '60s. Check out his website at www.rhythmoftherain.com.
